Deer Breeding At the moment there are about 100 deers in our pens and this number is ever-increasing. The deers are divided into two breeding herds. Other groups constitute stags and after separating fawns - fawns: male and female.
To build our breeding we took fallowing criteria into account:
- Origin - our animals come from a few best Euopean breedings
- Condition - hinds of 100 - 140 kg in weight, stags weight 150-250 kg , depending on age
- Age - brood hinds not older than 5 years old
- Quality of stags antlers - accurate depending on age
A deer is less trustful animal but it can be tamed, however to do this you need time and patience. A deer breeding is not difficult but requires more attention than fallow deer. Its effects, however give a lot of satisfaction.
Our deers are given only natural food. This feed contains:carrot, beetroot, oats, barley, corn, hay, hay silage, also nessesary is using salt in deer-licks. Daily food demand of a deer in winter season is about 1.2 kg of corn and hay without limitation. In summer it needs permament access to water, deerlicks and good pasture.
Annual upkeep of one deer is about 40 euro. Moreover, its also necessary to deworm twice a year by injection or giving the preparation in food.
